Questions everyone should know the answer to. Math, Physiology, Science, History, Music, and more! (but with answers, if you don’t :D)

Welcome to a general knowledge quiz! If you’ve talked with me recently, you would know that I love to ask friends and family these types of questions. So, I’ve made one for everyone to see! (Well, not everyone will be seeing this, but you get the point.) Here’s how the game works. There are going to questions falling into different categories such as those listed in the title. (Math, Physiology, Science, History, Music.) There is going to be 4 different choices. Choose one, and see if you got it right! Right or wrong, there will still be an explanation to the answer. Have fun!

Round 1

Question: 1

Category: Math

Question: What is the Fibonacci Sequence?

  1. Nothing, it’s not a real thing.
  2. A mathematical pattern
  3. An algebraic equation
  4. A video game

Got your answer? If you picked the answer 2, you’re correct. The Fibonacci Sequence is the pattern where a list of numbers is arrayed from least to greatest. You add the first number to the second number in the sequence and you get the third number in the sequence. Then you would add the second number to the third number to get the fourth. For example, here is a string of numbers.

1,3, 4, 7, 11, 18, 29

As you can see here, 1 is the first number in our array of numbers. The second number is 3. You add the first number to the second, so you would do 1+3. Your outcome should be 4, which is the next and third number in the pattern. If you add your outcome to the number behind it, (like 4 plus 3), you can find the next numbers in the pattern!

Fun Fact: This number was named after a mathematician named Leonardo Pisano Bigollo, also known as Fibonacci.

Question: 2

Category: Physiology

Question: How many bones does a human body have?

  1. 100
  2. 350
  3. 248
  4. 206

If you got the answer 248, then you’re wrong! The answer is 206. That’s right, we have 206 bones in our body: including the skull, spine, ribs, and arms!

Question: 3

Category: Geography

Question: Tajikistan is located in which continent?

  1. Asia
  2. Europe
  3. Africa
  4. South America

If you said Asia, you’re correct! A lot of the countries in Asia have -kistan as a suffix. To name a few, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan are all countries located in Asia and end with -kistan!

Question: 4

Category: Science

Question: What elements does the symbol Ag stand for in the periodic table?

  1. Sand
  2. Iron
  3. Silver
  4. Gold

If you answered Silver, you’re correct! Silver has an atomic number of 47 in the periodic table.

Question: 5

Category: Math

Question: Which of the following is the quadratic formula?

  1. a^2+b^3=c^3
  2. (x-h)^2+ (y-k)^2=r^2
  3. πr^2-πrL
  4. x= -b ± √ b^2- 4ac/2a

If you got the answer (x-h)^2+ (y-k)^2=r^2, then…you’re wrong! That is the area for a circle, not the quadratic formula. a^2+b^3=c^3 is the pythagoreom theorem, so that’s wrong as well. πr^2-πrL is the formula for a cone, so that is excluded as well. This leaves us with 4, x= -b ± √ b^2- 4ac/2a! So, x= -b ± √ b^2- 4ac/2a, is the quadratic formula.

Question: 6

Category: Food

Question: Are avacados fruits or vegetables?

  1. They are neither
  2. They are vegetables
  3. They are fruits
  4. It is still controversial

If you answered 4, you got it! It is proved that avocados are fruits, but avocados are still one of the most controversial topics in the fruit industry. Avocados fall under the category of fruit because it passes the meaning of fruit, which is “the sweet and fleshy product of a tree or other plant that contains seed and can be eaten as food.”  According to healthline.com, “Avocados grow on trees in warmer climates and are native to Mexico.” This proves that avocados are indeed vegetables. Which side are you on? Team fruit or team vegetable? Put your opinion in the comments! 😀

Question: 7

Category: Grammar

Question: How can you tell whether to use “an” or “a”?

  1. Usually, it depends if the word after it starts with a vowel
  2. There is no certain way to tell
  3. It depends on the point of view of the writing
  4. It depends on the writer

If you got the answer 1, then you are correct! For example, a cat. C is not a vowel, so it does not use the word “an”.

Question: 8

Category: Music

Question: What is the most viewed video on YouTube?

  1. Shape of You by Ed Sheeran
  2. Despacito by Luis Fonsi
  3. Baby Shark by Pink Fong
  4. Johny Johny Yes Papa

Answer: Baby Shark by Pink Fong is the most popular YouTube video of all time, with 8.37 billion views!

That’s it for this post! Keep updated every week for a few new questions! 😀

Most people do not know these. If you know a d think these are just basics and other people should already know this, you are quite wrong. I mean, you really expect us to know this??

Lol! I tried to make the title more catching, plus you’ll find kinds of these titles/questions on Buzzfeed, YouTube, and more. So, I tried it out, but in paragraph form!
