Bored? Learn something new!

If your bored around the house and love to learn, this list is perfect for you! Here is a list you can follow!

  1. Learn a new language.

Want to learn Spanish? German? French? You can learn a variety of languages for free at http://duolingo.com.

2. Learn first aid

Learning first aid can be helpful when someone is hurt. Search up “Beginners guide to first aide” and learn how to handle burns, bleeding, and more. If this sounds gory to you, here’s a link that has non-harmful pictures and helpful instructions.

3. Create a story

Create a story! A lot of adults say this, but if you love writing and want to start your career as an author earlier! Here are some ideas:

  • A diary of a person
  • A biography (description of a real life person)
  • Make a interesting plot (Example: You live in a world where people can see what your worrying about, etc.)
  • Write a sequel to your favorite book

4. Learn different Knots

Learning different knots are helpful for the future. You never know when you may be stranded with rope and wood!

Here’s a link with a series of knots, as well as instructions and what their purposes are for, like if the knot is strong enough for hanging heavy objects.

5. Learn more about math

Keep updated for more advanced math concepts on this website! ๐Ÿ˜€

6. Make something for your teachers and staff

Make something for your teachers and staff like a painting or drawing. Even a small email can touch teachers and staff. You can even make things for people around you, like your family and neighbors.

7. Practice your handwriting

Messy handwriting can be painful in schoolwork. Practice your handwriting by tracing on a printable worksheet.

8. Practice Drawing

Get better at drawing for art class or just for fun. This actually will be helpful in school because a lot of assignment will require drawing and coloring.

Looking for a digital app? If so, procreate is a perfect app to work with. It’s downloadable on a I-pad, but unfortunately not on mobile devices. Procreate pocket costs 5 dollars and has less options, but is still very reliable. Procreate has more brushes and a wider home page. The cost is 10 dollars, so be sure to not get confused between procreate pocket and procreate.

9. Learn the Periodic Table

Learning the Periodic Table is helpful for science. Just learning them can help you inference reactions between different elements. There are 118 elements to remember. Keep updated for a list here in the future! ๐Ÿ˜€

10. Learn the first 100 digits of Pi

This may sound like a waste of time, but it’s always fun to learn about Pi. Pi is an infinite number, going on and on and on and on and on and on and on… well, you get the point. Watch this video and try and remember the whole song! https://youtu.be/3HRkKznJoZA

11. Create and find a music playlist!
Music can be relaxing, upbeat, fast, slow, and come in all different forms. Find your own music that suits you and discover new artists!

12. Make new friends!

Message people on an app you use like Google Chat or Google Hangouts. It’s good to meet new people, especially people from your class in online learning. That you can look forward to seeing them when we go back to school! ๐Ÿ™‚

13. Find your gifts

Do you ever wonder what things bring you joy? Write them down or make an invisible list in your head, that way when you feel down or angry, you can control yourself and think and appreciate the good things in your life.

14. Show your appreciation to your friends or people you know

This is similar to one of the other ideas on the list, Make something for your teachers and staff. But this time instead of making something, you write a note or say a short sentence like thank you. Another way of showing appreciation is by saying goodnight and good morning to your friends. That way when they wake up, they can see that you contacted them. This makes them happy because you are signalizing that you were thinking about them.

This was last updated on 12/16/2020! Keep in mind that I will keep updating this list every so often. Be sure to check back and have a great day!
