Once upon a time, there was a girl named Bethany who always dreamed of being a professional beauty professor. She had been working at the beauty salon for 10 years, hoping to get a life-changing opportunity, but that day never came. Everyday she would check off her calendar, with the same pink highlighter. One day, Bethany came to work (a little late as always), and saw her boss and workers waiting for her. She hurried down the stairs and heaved her tattered pink, faux leather bag on the table.
“Ms. Carter, I have a very important announcement to make. We sat here waiting for you for the past 10 minutes!” exclaimed Roberta, her boss, frustrated.
“Sorry, Ms. Miller. I had to pick up something at the-,” Bethany blurted.
“Oh never mind that, come and hurry over here so I can announce the big news.” Ms. Miller interrupted, impatient.
Bethany quickly shuffled over to the circle, waiting for the big announcement.
“Hello, everyone. Now that Bethany has arrived, I can go ahead and tell you the big announcement.” She said, pausing to create suspense.“You can see there is a new building close by us, that is still in the process of getting built.”
Everyone groaned at the thought. All the staff and workers lived close by to the beauty salon, including Bethany, so the construction had made A LOT of BONKS, CLANGS, and BOOMS when they were sleeping AND when they woke up.
“How could we NOT know? Did you guys hear yesterday’s drilling at midnight? It kept me up all night.” Lauren groaned with dark lines under her eyes that seemed to be covered up with heavily applied foundation. They all grunted in agreement.
“No off-topic announcements please, Lauren. Now back to what I was saying…” Ms. Miller sighed. “The building that is in the process of making is a college. Not just any college, a BEAUTY college.” Ms. Miller announced, surprising everyone in the room.
They stared at each other, taking in the information, and then started jumping up and down like crazy. But Bethany was still standing there. She realized that this was her chance. The day she had been waiting for the last 10 years.
“HOW DO WE GET IN?” Clara blurted out, panting from jumping up and down.
“Well, that’s just what I was about to say. In order to get into college, you must pass multiple tests to prove that your worth. These tests will NOT be easy,” warned Ms. Miller.
Everyone looked at each other, worried. But, Bethany wasn’t worrying at all. She already had a feeling she was going to get in. She knew she was very pretty, with baby blue eyes that had specks of brown and milky blonde hair. She had a great complexion and years of experience.
She went home to tell her parents more about the school, though her parents never supported her. They wanted her to be a doctor or an entrepreneur. They always tried to talk her out of being a beautician and to get a ‘real’ job. But Bethany wasn’t going to let that happen. She would always follow her dream no matter what.
After about a year of getting staff, teachers, and more essentials, the school finally opened up. Bethany set her alarm clock very early and checked her makeup. She headed over to the academy only to find a very long line. Bethany swore that there were at least 800,00 people. That’s when she started to get a bit nervous, knowing that A LOT of people wanted to get into this school and only ⅛ of the people were getting in. She expected 3 times less.
Then everyone in line stopped and stared. The principal and the professors stepped out and made a grand entrance. Everyone quickly dusted their clothes and made sure everything was in place.
“Welcome to Weatherford’s Academy. Here you will learn all the necessities for beauty, as well as etiquette towards guests. You must pass a series of tests to get into this top-notch school and find your place. Any questions?” The principal, Mr. Bucky asked.
A line of heads bounced side to side, including Bethany’s.
“Very well then. Come inside our new school. I shall give all of you a tour.”
Everyone was very excited. After all, if the front looked gorgeous, imagine the inside. The outside looked like a literal mansion, only 100 times larger. It had a GORGEOUS neon sign, flashing in every color imaginable. It had diamonds embellishing to the outline of each letter. The letters Weatherford’s Academy sprawled on the big, flashing sign.
They toured each room to find gorgeous dorm rooms, filled with the most high-quality makeup, nails supplies, and essentials in each room, for every student. The cafeteria had the BEST chefs, serving weird combinations from zucchinis and pineapples to the greatest desserts. Cakes, apple turnovers, sprinkled with little sugar bits, and powdered sugar, and everything else imaginable.
All the classes had sparkling chandeliers dangling on the top of each room and desks neatly lined up in 5 straight rows. The students stared in awe as the chandelier sparkled in every color.
After the tour, it was time for the tests. The first test was presentation and skills.
“Who will be working with?” questioned a boy in the back.
“All of you will work with fans from outside. I will be grading on your performance, communication, and how you handle them.” Mr. Bucky answered.
The door opened as the guards directed the fans to a room. Mr. Bucky led them downstairs and took them to a room with rows of seats and beauty products.
“Here you will have 6 hours to present me with hair, makeup, and a well put together outfit. 6 hours?
That’s barely any time! thought Bethany. She was just going to have to make it work.
The stylists and beauticians approached the clients and started talking to them. Bethany approached a girl with brown hair, a white cropped t-shirt, black jeans, and a nametag with the name Clarissa printed on it.
“Hi, Clarissa! What kind of ideas do you have for your look?” Bethany asked politely.
They started talking about looks and decided on an elegant look, with a pink gown, layered with fluffy tulle paired with short heeled shoes and a natural makeup look. By the first hour, Bethany finished Clarissa’s hair. She had styled it with little loops of hair popping out of a bun. The bun was made out of 2 loose braids and tied in with a strand of hair and a bobby pin. She finished it off with 2 small pieces of hair in the front.
At the countdown, Bethany was fixing a bit of Clarrissa’s makeup. She had smothered foundation on her face, put a bit of blush and contour to highlight her cheekbones, dabbed a dark brown color with a bit of pink on her eyelids, and finished it off with fake eyelashes. After 6 hours of work, it was time to present her creation with Mr. Bucky and the staff. She looked around to find jaw-dropping work. One client had a smokey eye, with dark, black eyeshadow paired with a plaid black and red pattern, and lacy, white string intricately sewed.
Her competition was harder than she thought. The judges walked around, this time making dismissive remarks.
“Horrible stitching. Messy eyeliner.” a judge remarked, unimpressed.
The judges went down the line and in a blink of an eye, they approached her. Bethany prayed that the judges would like her work.
“What horrible shading! The eyeshadow looks like two clumps of powder lazily applied!” exclaimed Mr. Buckyl, horrified. The judges nodded in agreement.
Bethany’s hope turned into discouragement. The judges didn’t like her work, and worst of all neither did the principal. While they went around and finished off the rows, Bethany couldn’t stop thinking about what the principal had said. Then, it was time for rejection. Bethany was anxious, thinking about the remarks and her look.
“Sarah, Angela, Nigel, and Bethany, you can go. We look forward to maybe meeting you next year.” declared Mr. Bucky.
Bethany’s heart fell. Her chances were gone. The 10 years of waiting was wasted and she felt hopeless. She nodded her head, and left the building. As soon as she stepped out of the building, she ran home crying.
When she got home, she slammed the door and ran up to her room. She stuffed her head in the soft pillow and cried her heart out.
After a few minutes, her grandma came to comfort her.
“Are you okay dear? Did it really go that bad?” her grandma asked, concerned.
Bethany lifted her head up with her mouth open, makeup smudged.
“Yeah, Grandma. I’m sure that the principal and the judges loved my work and didn’t send me home.” Bethany badgered sarcastically.
“Oh.. well if you really love what you’re doing, why are you sitting here crying?”
“Why would I NOT be crying. Don’t you understand that the principal AND the judges hate my work? And I was the PRETTIEST one THERE.” scoffed Bethany.
“Now now, let’s not get cocky. Being pretty on the outside doesn’t change anything. It’s really what’s in the inside.”
‘Yeah yeah, sure. You’re just copying quotes from your book that talk nonsense.”
“Now you’re just being plain rude. You need to think about what I said and maybe one day you’ll learn. You can’t just rely on your looks, Bethany. I know that being a beautician is your dream, but have you thought about how much time you’ve spent on yourself instead of doing your job?”
Bethany thought about how much time she spent on herself. She realized that all the days she was late for work was because she spent so much time doing her makeup, instead of doing it on other people.
“If you’re ever going to get far as a beautician, you need to learn to not judge people by how they look and to not be so cocky. I’m going to go get some groceries and think about what I said.”
Her grandma left her room, leaving Bethany by herself. She asked herself if she really did want to be a beautician and if she cared. Deep inside, she could feel herself wanting to help others. Now she just had to apply it to her life.
The next day Bethany went straight to work, spending no time on her makeup.
“I’m here!”
Ms. Miller stared at her in amazement. Bethany wondered if it was because she had never seen Bethany without makeup or if she had come early for the first time in her life.
“Wow Bethany. The first time you came early AND without any makeup. By the way, you have a beautiful complexion.” Ms. Miller smiled.
“Thank you! Which client should I work with first?” questioned Bethany.
Throughout the rest of the day, Bethany spent all her time and her effort doing makeup and ended going home at 11.
“Goodnight Ms. Miller. I’m going to go home now. It’s a bit late.” yawned Bethany, looking at the clock.
Ms. Miller nodded toward the door and said a quick goodbye. Bethany left the building and headed for home. When she got home, she plopped down on her bed and thought about her day.
She really did like helping people. It was just a lot of work, but Bethany knew she could handle it. She fell asleep and woke up a little later than the day before, but she could still be early if she hurried. Bethany grabbed her bag and trotted down the stairs and outside of her apartment.
However, when she got outside, she noticed a bunch of girls on the side of the street who looked about the same age as her.
“Hi! I’m Kayla and these are my friends! You seem pretty cool. Do you wanna go to the mall with us today?” asked one of the girls.
Bethany was hesitant knowing that she did want some friends. After all, when she went to school, she was just an outcast. But Bethany knew that clients and her boss were waiting for her, so she decided to politely decline.
“Sorry, I have to go somewhere, but maybe we can schedule for another time?” said Bethany, hopeful.
“Come on, it”ll be fun! We’ll get new shoes, clothing, and food. What’s so important anyway? Can’t you just do it later?” scoffed Kayla, confused.
Bethany really did want to go and make friends. It also seemed fun to go shopping…
“I have a job as a beautician, but I mean…I guess I can skip a day.” Bethany offered reluctantly.
“Great! Come with us. I’ll show you all my favorite clothing shops and my newest beauty, my Prada purse!” beamed Kayla.
Bethany knew that she had made the wrong decision, but she did want to have some fun, and also she could always go tomorrow and work an extra shift.
After many hours of shopping and feasting, Bethany said goodbye to Kayla and the girls and headed home. When she got home, she was surprised to see her grandma sitting in the dining room.
“Where have you been, Bethany?” questioned her grandma.
“Uhm.. nowhere, why,” Bethany answered nervously.
As soon as she said those 3 words, her arms immediately started bulging.
“WHAT’S HAPPENING?” questioned Bethany, panicking.
“Calm down Bethany, for Pete’s sake. I put a lying potion your groceries.” she chuckled.
“WHY- HOW- WHAT-.” babbled Bethany, in confusion.
“I put the potion in your groceries for a reason. Not to harm you, but to teach you. Every time you tell a lie, some parts of you will change. Your legs, your arms, and everything else. If you keep telling lies, then you’ll be ending up not like your regular self. You’ll be the same person, but you have to learn that looks won’t change your ability and to be proud of the person you are.”
After this, Bethany’s grandma left the apartment, leaving Bethany shocked, angry, and confused at the same time.
“Why would she do this? I’m already trying to learn how to help people and stuff. It was just one day, ONE DAY!” exclaimed Bethany, frustrated.
Now her arm was blown up and couldn’t hide it. She tried searching for cures, but nothing showed up. She was tired and hoped that when she woke up, the bulge would go away.
The next day, Bethany woke up and immediately checked her arm. The bump was still there. She sighed and went to work. However, just as yesterday, she found the same girls on the street. She tried to hurry and get to work, but Kayla and her minions already noticed her.
“Hi Bethany, do you wanna go to my house today. My dad and my mom aren’t going to be home today, so you can come and stay for the night.
“Sorry, I still have-.”
“Oh, just do whatever you need to do later,” Kayla answered, dragging her to the car.
Bethany had no choice, she was already in Kayla’s car, and she could always make up for her time. Right?
Day after day, Bethany kept missing her job and came home tired and sad. Her grandma would ask every day on the phone how her day went, and she would always lie. When she looked in the mirror, her complexion became dull and blotchy, and her arms and thighs looked as if she had a puffy suit on. She didn’t care though, she was having the time of her life.
When it was 1 month until college applications, Bethany decided to get to work. She disguised herself to get past Kayla and her minions and headed toward the building.
“Hello, Ms, Miller.Sorry for not showing up…” mumbled Bethany, ashamed.
“Bethany?! Is that really you? You seem… different.”
“Long story. What customer should I work with first?
“Do you really think that I’m going to let you off the hook? You missed MONTHS of jobs. Have you realized how much time you’ve wasted? And what have you been doing that’s much more important than your job?” asked Ms. Miller, angry.
“This may sound silly, but I’ve been hanging out with some friends..”
“BETHANY. YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT YOU’VE BEEN OUT THERE DOING WHATEVER YOU TEENAGE GIRLS ARE DOING AND SLACKING OFF? CUSTOMERS ARE WAITING FOR YOU ALL DAY! WHILE YOU’RE OUT THERE HAVING FUN, THE WORKERS AND I HAVE BEEN DOING ALL THE WORK FOR YOU!” screeched MS. Miller, furious.
Bethany had never seen Ms. Miller this mad. She must have REALLY messed up.
“I-I’m sorry.” Bethany blurted, not knowing what to say.
“Just get back to work. You better get ready for the new college. Not that you’ll be ready,” glared Ms. Miller. “You can work with Clara over there.”
Bethany did as she was told and got to work. At the end of the day, Bethany went to sleep tired and sad. Although it was hard to resist hanging out with Kayla, Bethany forgot about how much she missed makeup and decided to keep on continuing. After a month of work, it was time to face the principal and the judges again. But, she knew that she had wasted too much time. She was going to need her appearance back.
“Hi, Grandma!” exclaimed Bethany, in a sweet tone.
“What would you want? You seem to be buttering me up.” sighed Grandma.
Bethany sighed.
“I was just wondering, could you maybe turn me back to normal? The university is entering spots tomorrow, and I have to look like myself otherwise I won’t pass the tests!”cried Bethany.
“Bethany? Remember when I told you not to judge people by their look. People can be anything they want to be! And no, I will not change you back until you prove that you want to help people, without slacking off!” scolded Grandma as she hung up.
Bethany scoffed, annoyed and frustrated. It was time to go, so Bethany got ready and chose her outfit. When got to the line, she noticed the line had become smaller than last year. People probably gave up and left. Bethany was going to do the same, but luckily for her, she had her grandma who kept pushing her.
“Welcome to WeatherFords Academy. For you newcomers, we are going to give you a tour of our great university. Come one in!” exclaimed Mr. Bucky.
Bethany already knew how the university looked like, so she didn’t really pay attention to the tour. Then, it was time for the tests. She wasn’t ready for them, but she was just going to try and do her best.
She was assigned to a girl named KC, and created a more gothic design for her.
She joined a graphic tee with black shorts and lazily applied some foundation, and forgot about blush and brows. To finish her creation off, she tied her clients hair in a messy bun. At the end of the time limit, Bethany knew that she was going to get eliminated. As expected, Mr. Bucky dismissed her first and she walked home.
Bethany went to her apartment and went to her room. She stared at her ceiling and thought about all the time she had wasted.
I have to make up for that time. From now on I’m going to work early. thought Bethany. She had already thought this, but only this time, she was actually going to.
Bethany came early every day and worked until late at night. She worked on getting better at makeup and hair and learned how to communicate with customers better. Day by day, week by week, followed months and months came to the moment she’d been working toward, college applications. She was confident with her hair and makeup skills. She’d been working a bit on creativity and stitching, so she’d be prepared.
The only problem was that Bethany still wasn’t herself. Well, she was herself, but she didn’t look like herself at all. Her legs and arms were still puffy, and her complexion was blotchy, as well as dark circles under her eyes from her hard work.
She arrived at the building and eyed Mr. Bucky.
“Well, who do we have here? The girl that has been failing college applications for the last let’s see… 2 or 3 years?” smirked Mr. Bucky.
Bethany didn’t reply, although his staff and the other students laughed as if it were the funniest thing ever. She was going to show how much she had improved in the past year. As usual, Mr. Bucky toured the place to newcomers. Then, the same old test she could never pass. She got stuck with a snobby patient, but she managed to work well with her. She decided to go over the top and make a dress with a complicated headpiece based on the movie Alice in Wonderland. She stacked teacups with a special type of glass so that the client could move comfortably and she embroidered a dress that was beige and gave a watercolor print effect with golden curves and flowers. She finished her client’s makeup with white powder and a dark red blush, with a heart-shaped lip, and a metallic blue eyeshadow. She looked around just in time to see Mr. Bucky, who seemed impressed. She kept a straight face, but was jumping with joy inside.
‘5..4…3..2..1.. All participants put everything down.”
Bethany raised her hands and was relieved that she had finished. Her hard work had paid off and her outcome was beautiful. Although she didn’t have time to do hair, the client had straight, sleek hair, so it wasn’t a problem. Mr. Bucky approached her and smiled at her, but not in a mean way… actually in a nice way.
“Wow Ms. Carter, you really HAVE improved. This creation… is out of the box.”
“Thank you,” was all Bethany could get out. In her head, she was screaming of happiness.
At the end, it was time for dismissal, the part Bethany could never pass. Mr. Bucky and the judges went down the line dismissing them, as Bethany closed her eyes, not daring to open them. She peeked out of her eye and saw that they had passed her. Bethany realized that she had passed and jumped up and down with happiness. Everybody stared at her, including the judges.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry. I-I.” flushed Bethany, embarrassed.
The judges and Mr. Bucky carried on, making the participants distracted. After what had seemed like a long time, they finally finished dismissing people.
“Congratulations, you all have made it past the 1st stage. Now, you shall pass the 2nd. Your second test is an interview. You will be asked a series of questions and you shall answer truthfully. Brent, David, Su-Joy, and Quinn, I’ll take you to my office. Meanwhile, you all should sit here and wait patiently. Go ahead and get to know some people, for they might be your colleagues.”
Bethany was glad she didn’t have to go first, but she knew she would have to go eventually. She headed to a run-down vintage chair and found herself caught in a girl and a boy.
“Hi, I’m Amanda and this is my annoying brother Aaron.” the girl said, with a bit of sourness when she said her brother’s name.
Her brother rolled his eyes, but smiled at Bethany, as if he were waiting for her to speak.
“Hi, my name’s Bethany.”
“Nice! Wait, aren’t you that girl that failed the applications 2 or 3 times in a row…”
Bethany sighed, not fond of the nickname.
“Hey, it’s fine. This is my first time here, and I bet I’m getting out after this.” smiled Amanda.
She smiled back and turned to the boy.
“How about you? Do you think you’ll pass the inter-”
Right then, the principal came out of the office and called out a list of names.
“Becky, Samantha, Camile, and Bethany, please come to my office.”
They all trotted to his office. When they got there, he leaned to a seat, hinting for them to sit.
“Hello, students. I will give you instructions on how to submit your interview. First, I will give you a piece of paper and you must answer them truthfully and thoughtfully. After you are done, you shall put your finished paper on this stack of papers,”Mr. Bucky announced.
Becky, Samantha, Camile, and Bethany nodded and reached for the paper. The questions were very challenging, knowing that she needed something impressive, but at the end, she was very confident about her answers. She thanked the principal and left the room. She waved goodbye to Amanda and Aaron and headed home.
After a few months, she got an email saying that she had passed the 2nd test. When she heard this news, she was exploding with happiness. She jumped all over the room and called her parents first. They all congratulated her and told her how much they loved her. Then she called her grandma, the woman who helped Bethany the most.
“Hi, Grandma!”
“Hello, Bethany. Why do you seem so excited?”
“I just passed the 2nd test!”
“I expected for you to pass. After all, you have been working very hard.”
“Thanks Grandma. You really helped me. Let’s hope I pass this last test. Then, I’ll be able to go to my dream school! I don’t even mind what I look like! Thanks again Grandma, you’re a lifesaver.” smiled Bethany.
She hung up and went to her parents house. There she met her sister and her older brother and they all had a feast to congratulate Bethany for passing her 2nd test. She went home a bit late, but got ready and woke up early the next day.
“Hi Ms. Carter! You’ll never guess what happened!” Bethany exclaimed.
“WHAT? Did you get into the academy?” questioned Ms. Carter, confused and excited at the same time.
“Well, not yet, but I got past the 2nd test! There’s only one more test, and then I’ll be able to get into the school. I’m this close!” Bethany said, sizing her hands to a 1 centimeter gap.
“Oh, well congratulations! You’ve earned it! But let’s get to work shall we?” hurried Ms. Carter.
Bethany knew she had customers waiting for her, so she hurried over to a salon chair and got to work. At the end of the day, Bethany got off work early, so that she could get enough sleep for the last test the next morning. But, Bethany stayed up late and practiced, researched, remembered, so much information, she could barely keep up with her brain. She fell asleep on her desk and woke up a little bit later than usual.
She quickly put on some clothes that seemed to be tighter than usual, and hurried to the academy.
When she got there, she was a bit late and knew that being late would not be accepted at the academy, so she had to rush over and hope Mr. Bucky would see her. Luckily, he was too busy lecturing a group of girls who had already gotten into the academy for breaking piece of lipstick. After his 3 hours lecture had ended, he finally gazed at the group.
“Hello students. As you all know, this is the last and final quiz. Now, this test is not something you can just study, this is a test on yourself.”warned Mr. Bucky.
Bethany was almost confident that this test would be something about personality and kindness but instead…
“You will be judged on your appearance.”
Bethany was shocked. She thought that the academy accepted everyone for who they are. But instead, they had a whole test about looks. She stood there not knowing what to do.
Mr. Bucky rambled on and on about how looks are important and how it was something you couldn’t change. Not that Bethany was paying attention though. Until Mr. Bucky started to call out names.
‘Kira, Willow, Jake, Coco, Paul, Tracy, Bethany, Kimberly,……..”rambled Mr. Bucky.
Bethany was more than heartbroken to be called on. She didn’t know what to say, so she just quietly left the room before Mr. Bucky could even say, “Come back next year!”
She trotted around her neighborhood, still speechless.
I thought Grandma said looks don’t matter… unless? thought Bethany, confused.
When she got home, she saw her grandma sitting at the table.
Wow, thought Bethany. She’s always surprising me. Maybe she is setting me up.
“Hi Grandma… could I ask you a quick question?”asked Bethany.
“Of course, why? What happened?”
“Nothing… it’s just that I didn’t make it past the last test…” said Bethany, discouraged.
Her grandma sat there confused and still processing the information.
“What?! How? You were prepared for everything, what could’ve you possibly not pass?”
“The last test…..was appearance. The one thing you told me not to worry about.” said Bethany, with a bit of sourness to her tone.
“WHAT? LOOKS? What kind of test is that?”
“Wait.. so you didn’t know what tests would be?”
“No, why would I?”
Bethany sat there confused.
“I thought you had set me up so that I could get a “real” job.” Bethany confessed, itching her hair in confusion.
“Why would you ever think that? I was the one helping you the whole time!” exclaimed her grandma.
Oops, thought Bethany, nevermind.
“Never mind that. I just can’t believe I can’t even get in. I was so close.”
“Wait, you’re just gonna sit there and not do anything about it? Why are you just standing there? Go do something about it! Stick up for yourself! It’s the only way you might get into the college, since you already got eliminated by the last round.”
Bethany realized that her grandma was right. She needed to stick up for herself to not only have a change to get into the college, she needed to fight for other people as well.
Bethany trotted out of the door, leaving her grandma behind without saying anything. She walked and walked, passing by restaurants and houses until she got to her destination. She looked at the big sign, took a deep breath, and went through the doors.
“Hi, I’d like to talk to Mr. Bucky please. Actually, the whole staff and him together please” Bethany asked, politely.
“Actually, the principal and staff are quite busy handling the new students-” said the front desk worker.
“Hello Bethany. You wish to speak to me?” replied Mr. Bucky, cutting off the worker.
“Yes, as well as the whole staff.”
“What is this thing you need to talk about to the whole staff and I?”
Bethany walked past him and into his office, where she saw all the staff in the chairs.
Perfect, thought Bethany, now all we need is Mr. Bucky.
He came through the door and sat on his large, black chair.
“What do you need to talk about at this time of the day? If you’re begging to come back to the university, then you might as well leave the room.” replied Mr. Bucky.
“No, I’ve come here to tell you all about your last test. Why should looks matter? You blabber on and on about how looks are so important and how they affect you, when they really don’t matter. See, people can’t help on the way they look. They can’t choose who they wanna be, they just are. There’s no reason why there should be a test including the topic appearance.. It’s not right. I don’t care whether or not I get into this school, it shouldn’t be a test.” states Bethany, causing all eyes to be on her.
They all stared at her like she was the craziest person in the world, and then started clapping.
Bethany was confused, and then realized that the judges and principal liked her speech.
“Bethany my dear, you have been the only person to stand up to us. We’ve been waiting for days for people like you. Because of your bravery and courage to fight for other people, not only will you be attending the university, you shall be recommended to many famous artists and become the most famous beautician in the world. It is an honor to have you.” a female judge remarked, bowing to her after she finished her sentence. As soon as the words had come out of the judge’s mouth, her body began to change shape and went back to her normal form. But, Bethany didn’t care. She was about to attend the school of her dreams.
Since that very day, Bethany started attending Weatherford’s academy and after 8 years, she had gotten a bachelor’s degree in beauty and started working with many famous artists such as Carly Quinn and Elanor Eve. Bethany has become one of the most known beauticians and has inspired many kids around the world to be themselves and to be whatever you want to be.
THE END
